Manage transfer institutions and articulations

Applies to 2.0.0 and later

Build a transfer institutions directory and attach transfer articulations to a credential.

Manage transfer institutions and articulations

Transfer articulations tell a student where a credential transfers and to what program. Setting them up is two steps: build a directory of transfer institutions, then attach articulation entries to a credential pointing at those institutions.

Add a transfer institution

  1. In the Pathways sidebar, click Institutions.
  2. Click Add Institution.
  3. Enter the Name.
  4. Optionally fill in Website URL, City, State, and Institution Type (Public 4-Year, Private 4-Year, or Public 2-Year).
  5. Under Logo, click Choose Logo to select an image from the media library.
  6. Click Create Institution.

Edit or remove an institution

  1. In the Institutions list, click the institution to edit its fields, or open its row actions to Delete.

Deleting an institution does not update articulation entries that reference it by name. If you delete an institution that credentials already transfer to, edit those credentials’ articulation entries afterward.

Attach a transfer articulation to a credential

  1. In the Pathways sidebar, click Pathway Programs and open the program.
  2. Open the Credentials tab.
  3. Find the credential under Transfer Articulations.
  4. Click Add Articulation.
  5. Choose the institution from the dropdown (this pulls from the Institutions directory), enter the Program name at that institution, and optionally a URL.
  6. Click Save Pathway Data.

Add one articulation row per receiving institution and program. A credential can have as many articulation entries as it has transfer agreements.

Remove an articulation

  1. On the Credentials tab, find the articulation row under the credential.
  2. Click the remove icon on that row.
  3. Click Save Pathway Data.

If you need course-level transfer equivalencies

The Institutions directory and credential-level articulations cover “this credential transfers to this program at this school.” If you need to track specific course-to-course credit equivalencies (which course at your college maps to which course at a receiving institution, with credit counts and an agreement type), that’s a separate, Catalog-level feature: the Transfer screen in the main Catalog admin nav, with CSV import.
