Everything Acalog does.Running on your own website.
Acalog, now sold by Modern Campus, is the established name in academic catalog software, trusted by hundreds of institutions with a deep, mature feature set. Kenii takes on the same job and moves it onto the WordPress site and database your college already owns, turning the catalog into a recruiting tool your team controls end to end.
We would rather name their strengths than pretend they are not real.
A mature, deep feature set
Acalog has been built and refined for a long time, and it shows in the breadth of what the platform can configure. Institutions with complex, long-standing catalog workflows already built around it have real reason to stay put.
The largest install base in the category
More community colleges and universities run Acalog than any other catalog platform. That scale means IT teams, consultants, and accreditation reviewers already know how it works on sight.
Peers who already vouch for it
When a curriculum coordinator asks around before a purchase, Acalog is usually the answer they get back. That kind of peer validation carries real weight with a buying committee, and it is earned.
The difference is not the catalog. It is who owns it, where it lives, and what it does for enrollment.
Not fewer features. A different address.
Everything they never built into yours.
Career exploration, inside the license.
A student types the job they want and Compass returns the credentials your college actually awards, ranked by fit. The nearest standalone product, Lightcast Career Coach, is sourced between $5,000 and $12,000 a year by service-area population.
Proposals and approvals, same license.
Committee routing, per-member votes, and approval evidence run as a module of the platform you already licensed, writing approved changes into the catalog record rather than into a second system on a second contract.
Wages on the page a student is reading.
Regional wage and employment figures from federal sources sit on the program page itself, mapped through CIP and SOC crosswalks to the credentials you award rather than to a broad category.
One record behind the whole catalog.
The course a student reads and the course your registrar maintains are the same record. Change it once and every program page, plan of study, and degree map referencing it is already correct.
Transfer status and dual enrollment, rendered.
Transfer status is marked once on the course record and shows next to the course. Dual enrollment pathways carry whatever your state calls them, because the terminology is a setting rather than a string in the code.
Your site, your database, your domain.
Kenii runs on the WordPress your college already operates and writes to your own database. Pages publish under your domain and index as yours, with a documented REST API and open JSON and CSV export.
Your catalog lives on your website,
not a vendor’s.
Acalog publishes your catalog on a Modern Campus domain, one more stop between a prospective student and your programs. Kenii Catalog publishes every program, course, and credential on the WordPress site and in the database your institution already operates, so the pages are yours, indexed as yours, and working as part of your recruiting instead of standing beside it.
Programs
48 programs in the catalog · 2026 to 2027
Built to recruit,
not just to publish.
Acalog was built as a catalog of record: accurate, searchable, thorough. Kenii Catalog is mobile-first and built to move a prospective student from “what should I study” to a specific program, with Pathways attaching live regional wage and demand data to the programs your college actually teaches, so the catalog does recruiting work instead of sitting next to it.

Questions institutions ask before they switch.
- Is Acalog more mature than Kenii?
- Yes, and we would rather say so than dodge it. Acalog has been refined over years of real institutional use, and it shows in the depth of what it can configure. Kenii is newer, with a narrower, sharper feature set aimed at ownership and recruiting rather than breadth.
- What does Acalog actually cost?
- At John A. Logan College in Illinois, the 2024 contract was about $12,500 a year in license fees plus about $20,500 in implementation, a real figure from a real contract, not one we are guessing at. Kenii’s license and implementation scale with the size of your catalog, so we build you a written quote after we have seen it rather than publish a number that fits nobody.
- Why would we move off a platform this many peers already use?
- If Acalog is working for your institution today, that is a fair reason to stay. Institutions move when they want their catalog living on their own site instead of a vendor domain, when they want it doing recruiting work instead of sitting beside it, or when Pathways and Curriculum matter enough that running one connected platform beats running several separate ones.
- What happens to our catalog if we ever leave Kenii?
- It stays in your own database, on your own server, and exports in open formats, JSON and CSV, whenever you want it. Public rendering pauses if a license lapses, but no one else is ever holding your catalog, which is the opposite of how a hosted platform works.
- Does Kenii do everything Acalog does?
- Not yet, and we will not tell you otherwise. Acalog’s feature set is deeper in places built up over years of institutional configuration. What Kenii does today, it does on your own site, connected to real enrollment and labor market data through Pathways, which is work Acalog was never built to do.
