Martin Community College runsits catalog on Kenii.

Martin Community College publishes its entire academic catalog, program by program and course by course, on its own website, in its own brand. Today that catalog holds 386 courses, 89 transfer-approved courses, and 34 Career and College Promise pathways, all live, all connected, and all owned by Martin.

Martin’s catalog is not parked on a vendor’s server. It is Martin’s own site, doing Martin’s recruiting.

On Martin’s domain, in Martin’s brand.

Where Martin started

A catalog nobody could search on a phone.

Before Kenii, Martin’s academic catalog was a document rebuilt from scratch every year and published as a static file, disconnected from the website prospective students actually used to research programs. Finding a course meant scrolling, not searching. Confirming a transfer credit meant a phone call to the registrar. Publishing a new catalog year meant weeks of manual copying, with no guarantee that the version a student was reading matched the version the college had approved.

A catalog with 386 live courses,
updated by Martin’s own team.

Martin’s catalog runs on martincc.edu, not a vendor’s domain, styled in Martin’s own colors and fonts. The catalog coordinator publishes program and course updates directly, in an afternoon rather than a semester, and exports the finished catalog to PDF with one click for students and advisors who still want a printable copy.

Every one of Martin’s 89 CAA transfer-approved courses shows its transfer status right on the course page, so students and advisors see it without picking up the phone. Martin’s 34 Career and College Promise pathways connect local high school students directly to the college program and credential each one leads to, using the terminology North Carolina students already know.

The impact

One catalog, three teams, no more guesswork.

For the catalog coordinator

Martin’s coordinator no longer rebuilds the catalog from a spreadsheet every spring. A course or program update goes live the same day, publishes to PDF on demand, and never drifts out of sync with what the college actually approved.

For enrollment and recruiting

Martin’s programs now live where prospective students already are: the college’s own website, searchable by interest and credential, on a phone, in Martin’s own brand instead of a vendor’s.

For IT and leadership

Martin’s CIO runs one platform instead of stitching together a catalog tool, a transfer tracker, and a pathways tool. Everything lives inside the WordPress site Martin already operates and the database Martin already owns.

What sets Kenii aside is that it is all built into one, and it is inside your own website. It has surpassed anything we could have ever imagined.
