How to manage your lists

Manage Lists is where you edit the reusable taxonomies your catalog draws from: Program Areas, Credential Types, Program Types, Delivery Modes, Course Prefixes, and Transfer Institutions.

Open a list

  1. Open Manage Lists in the sidebar.
  2. Click the list you want to edit.

Add an entry

  1. Open the list.
  2. Enter a Name in the Add form at the top (and a Parent, if the list supports hierarchy).
  3. Click Add.

Program Areas and Credential Types support a Parent, so you can nest one under another. Delivery Modes, Course Prefixes, and Transfer Institutions do not.

If you’re adding a program area, you can also add it inline from the program editor’s Program Areas field with + Create new area, see How to manage programs, credentials, and courses.

Rename an entry

  1. Open the list.
  2. Click Rename on the entry’s row.
  3. Edit the name (and parent, if applicable).
  4. Click Save.

Entries marked System can’t be renamed or deleted. Curriculum and Continuing Education in Program Types, and In Person in Delivery Modes, are protected system values for this reason.

Delete an entry

  1. Open the list.
  2. Click Delete on the entry’s row.
  3. Confirm in the dialog.

Deleting an entry only removes the entry itself; it doesn’t delete the programs, courses, or credentials that used it.

Course Prefixes are a special case

You can’t add a course prefix directly, prefixes are derived automatically from the course codes you enter (for example, saving a course coded ACC-120 creates the ACC prefix if it doesn’t exist yet). Open Manage Lists > Course Prefixes to rename a prefix’s display name or add a description; new prefixes appear here as soon as you save a course that uses them.

Manage transfer institutions

Transfer Institutions lists the schools students transfer to. Add, rename, or remove institutions from this list; edit an institution’s detailed profile (contact info, articulation notes) from Transfer instead.
