Build your academic calendar from terms, key dates, and a downloadable PDF
How to set up the academic calendar
The academic calendar is built from terms (Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter), each with its own dates.
Create a term
- Open Catalog Years > Calendar.
- Click Add Term.
- Enter the Term Name (for example, “Fall 2026”).
- Set Type (Fall, Spring, Summer, or Winter) and Academic Year (format
2026-2027). - Set Catalog Year, or click + Create New Year to add one inline.
- Under Basics, enter Start Date, End Date, Registration Start, Registration End, and Drop Deadline.
- Turn on Active Term if this is the current term.
- Click Save.
Add key dates (holidays, breaks, deadlines, ceremonies)
- Save the term first, then open its Calendar Dates tab.
- Click + Add date.
- Enter a Label (for example, “MLK Day Holiday”).
- Set the date Type: Milestone, Deadline, Holiday, Break, Exam Period, Ceremony, or Faculty/Staff.
- Set the date. Click + End date if the entry spans a range (for example, a week-long break), or Single date to remove the range.
- Repeat for each additional date. Reorder rows with the up/down arrows.
- Click Save.
Reuse a previous term’s dates for a new term
Use this to avoid re-entering the same recurring dates every year.
- Create the new term (see above) and save it.
- Open its Calendar Dates tab. If a previous term of the same type exists, a Clone dates from a previous term panel appears.
- Select the source term and click Clone dates.
Cloning shifts every date forward by the difference between the source term’s year and the new term’s year, and replaces any dates already on the new term.
Lock and unlock behavior
Terms whose academic year has fully ended become read-only automatically, you’ll see a Locked badge and the fields, including calendar dates, become uneditable. This is not something you turn on or off per term.
Attach a downloadable PDF calendar for a catalog year
- Open Catalog Years > Years.
- On the relevant year, use Attach Calendar PDF and select a PDF file.
The PDF download link then appears alongside that year’s calendar wherever it’s rendered.
Display the calendar on the site
